Cozy Beach Cottage, lovingly known in our family as "The Green Cottage," has been part of our lives for over 80 years. One of the original cottages on Klinger Lake, it was used as a guest house by our grandparents, Fred and Mildred Crapo, who picked this spot for its perfect location—sunset views, great fishing, and a peaceful setting right along the edge of the golf course.

Fred and Mildred raised three daughters—Betsy Horton, Ann Hannah, and Janet Harvey—and each summer, their families gathered here. It quickly became the backdrop for sun-soaked days, barefoot adventures, and cherished memories that have lasted a lifetime.

Now in the hands of Janet’s children, the cottage has been lovingly shared with four generations of our family. While it’s seen a few updates and refreshes over the years, the cottage still holds onto its original charm and spirit—just as we remember it.

It's more than just a place to stay—it's a place to build memories, connect with family and nature.

Our grandfather, Fred Crapo, had a deep love for sailing. He was the founder of the Klinger Lake Yacht Club and the one who brought the Flying Scots to the lake—boats that are still raced here today. Fred took great pride in his sailboat and could often be found trimming sails or chasing the wind. He wasn’t just a sailor—he was a Sunday champion, winning more than his fair share of weekend races and earning a well-deserved reputation on the water.
